India and South Africa are set to lock horns in the third T20I of their five-match series on Sunday at the scenic Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala. The series, which has already delivered a compelling narrative of dominance, is currently levelled at 1-1. India began the series in emphatic fashion, overpowering South Africa in the first game. The Proteas were bundled out for their lowest-ever T20I total.
However, South Africa made a remarkable comeback in the second game, winning the contest by 51 runs. With Quinton de Kock scoring a sublime 90, South Africa turned the tables in style, posting a formidable total of 213, which India struggled to chase, being bowled out for 162 in 19.1 overs.
Meanwhile, a major concern for India remains the lack of significant contributions from key players such as Suryakumar Yadav and vice-captain Shubman Gill, who have repeatedly failed to make their presence felt. India have heavily relied on Abhishek Sharma to deliver rapid starts. While in the middle order, Tilak Varma has shown commendable consistency.
